This subfield brings together researchers who deal with questions on public health as a cornerstone of the well-being of today's and future generations. Major topics in this field are the question about determinants for health and well-being as well as about responsibilities for health effects of national politics, urban transformations and the prevailing market-economic logic of the health system. Among the possible objects of investigation are also perspectives and risks of the communication technology in general and the sensor technology especially, perspectives for a minimization of ecological and health risks caused by the use of sustainable technologies in the biotech and chemical industry, health risk factors that come along with the climate change and health risks of societal mobility (including migration). Finally, health issues concerning a more sustainable mobility and sports will be considered.
